This happened 20 yrs ago when my son was a toddler. We lived with my mom and dad. He had a cold and woke up very congested and was coughing a lot. I tried sitting with him in a steamy bathroom, but it wasn’t working so my dad drove us to the America27s-Nightmare-Biden but in fact I love this ER. There was a teenage mom who brought her baby in for the same reason. It was very clear that the girl’s mom who had brought her in didn’t think that it warranted a late night ER visit and was being a bit of a bitch trying get her daughter to just go home. My mom and I were disgusted by her attitude. My mom said something to me about how she’d never act that way. Both the girl’s baby and my son were ok I think that gave the baby a breathing treatment. My son ending out not needing a breathing treatment or any other treatment before his congestion cleared up on its own after we got there. The nurse or doctor that examined my son said that it wasn’t unusual that the night air and the steam treatment I did at home probably helped . I had to take my son in one other time and he ended up needing a breathing treatment but was fine afterwards. I felt sorry for the girl and her baby hopefully she was able to move out and get away from her mom.

My brother and I just found out that our mom has been getting back pay from child support and is also getting a monthly stipend as well. The issue is that we’re 23 & 24 and we don’t live with her either. What can we do to receive that money directly? That’s not how that works. Your mom had ongoing expenses to sustain from clothes, food, medical, school events, whatever it may be. No one was there filling that financial part for her then. She’s recouping part of that financial burden.
