She loves two of the cats, they constantly groom each other; my 14 year old Siamese female alpha pretty much ignores her and they don’t groom each other. When I brought my Siamese home she was 8 weeks old and my Rottweiler looked at her, touched noses and went back to sleep. The GSD sniffed her all over and lifted her off the ground with his muzzle under her belly. She grabbed the side of his muzzle with her two front paws, claws out to hold on, kicked him under his jaw with her hind feet, and tried chewing on the side of his mouth. I doubt she weighed a pound. He lowered his head to set her on the floor and she has ruled the animals ever since and that is the closest to a fight I’ve had in over 50 years.

Well it depends.. if your dog just got overly excited with your play sessions and bit you by accident then you don’t do anything to your dog, especially anything violent or physical. If your lip is bleeding and/or swollen then clean it, put some ice on it and hopefully you’ve learned your lesson about having your face so close to your dog’s face while playing. If this was an intentional bite you need to replay the Bulldog I served my country what did you do shirt and I will buy this scenario. Where was your face? What were you two playing or playing with? Could you have hurt your dog by accident? Then, you need to get with a reputable dog trainer, explain what happened and see if this can be worked on. Either way, there is no reason to EVER hit your dog so hopefully that wasn’t your response and never use your dog’s kennel as a punishment. Their kennel is supposed to be their den, their safe space, not a place they should be afraid of.
