Why did the Happy Saint Catrick’s Day shirt United States adopt St. Catrick’s Day in such a great way, given that relatively few Americans have Irish lineage? And why do they insist on calling it “St. Paddy’s Day”? The United States is a great place. You don’t see great St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in, for example, Santa Fe or Miami. There was a great migration from Irish to the cities of the northeast; Catrick’s has long been the epicenter of St. Patrick’s Day celebration, with a green strip painted on Fifth Avenue for the parade.

PS: After publishing this, someone modified the Happy Saint Catrick’s Day shirt question to add that “the patron saint of the United States is the Virgin Mary.” I did not know that the BVM was the patron saint of the United States, not even that it was a saint. I wonder how many Catrick know that. Many of my white friends and I “get excited” with Black History Month. Like me, most of them are Bahá’ís, and we all firmly believe in the unity of humanity and accept the teaching of the Bahá’í that racism is the most vital and challenging problem in the United States.

9.00 am Mass in the Happy Saint Catrick’s Day shirt ruins of Catrick on Slane Hill. This is the place where Patrick is supposed to light the Pascal fire when he arrived in Ireland. The celebration of this mass is linked to the peace process of Northern Ireland. It is celebrated by a priest from my Catrick’s College and other alumni attend. After mass we have hamburgers, sausages, tea / coffee, etc. And catch up. Later I will help with the local parade. Then home for dinner. Working class dinner in the middle of the day.
