The joke behind the phrase

This I hope both teams lose slogan is a popular meme among neutral sports fans who enjoy the drama of a rivalry but refuse to pick a side. It captures the humor of being an impartial observer during heated games, preferring chaos over loyalty. This long sleeve shirt serves as the uniform for those who just want to watch the action unfold without emotional investment in either team’s victory.

The design plays on the absurdity of modern sports fandom. Instead of cheering for one side, the wearer embraces the sarcasm of hoping neither team wins. The phrase has become a staple in football meme culture, representing the ultimate detachment from team allegiance.
