I found that lace hooks often looked more ‘webby’. As for blocking, or not … I have some pretty flowers that my grandma has hooked and I don’t have enough pins to lay them flat to dry. Most will curl and will need to be ironed to lie flat. Missing a stitch, or an incorrect stitch, will cause the item to not have the correct number of stitches, not be placed like that, etc., when you go to that area again or a few rows on the road.
