Yes, not everyone, but if someone says that they participated in boxing, I would say Hey it’s cool, I trained jiu jitsu, just have my blue belt! I have a little pain.

It was not to boast, it was the Proudest aunt on this earth shirt greatest accomplishment I had achieved, my most proud moment. Sensei is an old school, he ran us ragged for two months leading up to our belt test. We had cuts, bruises, a friend had fractured ribs a week before the test. The last two weeks we have come every day. I stopped doing any homework because it was wearing on me. Nothing I ever did made me so proud, not for military service, not for college, nothing. I want everyone to know how great martial arts are, and to recommend that they should practice.

It lasted a few months. Now I only talk about it if someone asks. Just once I heard a black belt act like I did, mcdojo graduated with a 2nd dan after only two years.
